I song. Well, I want to welcome my roomie and our wonderful teacher, Christine Zanoni. And she's actually going to be teaching on submitting one to another, Peter, James and Paul. So everyone please give her a warm welcome.
Guys, I appreciate the Wahoos.
Speaker1:
Go ahead and turn to your Bibles in Ephesians five. So like Jesse mentioned, I am teaching on submitting to one another to win, and we're going to look at God's design of how we are to submit to the submit to the one body and how we are to work together and how teamwork works in the Body of Christ. Ephesians five, that's where we're going to go first. Does anyone need a Bible? All right, let's pass them down so everyone has it. There's one up here. There's one extra one if anyone needs it. Okay, so who has Ephesians five and wants to read verse 21? Hi, guys. Oh, okay. Go ahead.
Speaker2:
Okay.
Speaker1:
Ephesians 521 submitting yourselves one to another in the Fear of God. Awesome. All right. So the word says that it pertains all things that pertain unto life and godliness, right? We know that's true. So that's got to include teamwork and how to work together. And we're going to see God's design of how the body of Christ is meant to function. That's what we do here. That's what we do at fellowship. We want to learn the way that God wants us to do things so that then we can implement those same action plans in our life. So this verse here, Ephesians 521, it says submitting yourselves to one another in the fear or reverence of God. You know, submit means to arrange under, to obey or to yield to one's advice and we have free will always. You know, this isn't something where you ever lose control of your ability to make free will decisions, but that's the proper arrangement of how God wants us to function. And sometimes that is going to require us to put aside our own personal opinions. We're all different. We all have opinions, but we all are supposed to align our thoughts up with the word and submit one another to with with one another so that we can win. That's the goal. Um, we know that first Corinthians three six says, I planted, I have planted Apollos watered, but God gave the increase.
Speaker1:
You know, it's a team effort. Paul was talking about how he may start something and Apollos is going to contribute, but God gives the increase. We work together always. It's not a one man show. We work as a team to watch the Super Bowl. Okay. I didn't watch it. I barely knew what's happening. Okay, so who won? Ravens. Ravens. Okay. So I'm sure that we're not watching any football game. You know, there's different plays that happen, so it's not the same play that keeps happening, right? There's different players that are integrated into moves. And what's the point of playing, winning, winning. They want to win. And how do they do that? Right? Teamwork, all those things. Yes. But all those things require teamwork and require them to work together as a team. The same is true of us. When we function in the body of Christ, we want to move as one unit as teamwork. So I'll ask you again, who won the Ravens? The team won, right? That's right. Okay. We win together as a team as well. Okay. So that's what we want to learn about is how we're going to do this. How do we win as a team? Go ahead and turn to first Corinthians 16 and whoever gets there first can read it. We're going to read verse 16 of chapter 16.
Speaker2:
But you submit yourselves unto such unto every one that helpeth with us and labour us.
Speaker1:
Great. Thanks. Thanks, Brian. I always love when you read. Okay, so there's a purpose. There's a goal to this. The goal is to move the word. We want to move as a team so that we get the word out there. Our ministry has a goal. It's God's prevailing word to the world. There's a goal, there's a point. And winning is when we work together as a team. The dynamics of that as a team involves listening and considering the ideas of others. That's submitting one to another. It's not being wise in your own self, but being willing to submit, willing to receive guidance and counsel. You know, one thing that I've really realized since I've moved out here is that the world will teach you that independence is the goal. You want to be independent. You don't want to have to rely on anything. Well, that's not what the word says. The word teaches interdependence. We are to work together as a unit. We rely on each other. We have each other to go to when we need situations to be resolved. When we have problems, we need to solve them. We go to the word and we go to each other. That's God's design and that's how I want to function. I don't want to be there out there on my own, you know? Have you ever felt that way? Like you're just all alone? Yeah. Well, that's not God's design. God's design is for us to be able to move together to win.
